What is the PTA?
We are, as parents of children at the school, all part of the PTA - The Parent, Teachers Association. There is a chair, a treasurer and a secretary who are elected by you to run the PTA.
Current PTA 2009/10
Chair Vacant
Treasurer Annette Hooper
Secretary Sabine Coldrey
Class Reps:
Butterflies: Anna Hetherington and Judith Littlemore
Ladybirds: Lucy Fretwell and Tracy Marlow
Caterpillars: Debbie Milne, Nikki Roessler and Santha Dixon
Grasshoppers: Saskia Wright and Louise Parker
Dragonflies: Irena Ristova-Pardon and Fiona Ives
Honeybees: Claire Neville and Amanda Knight
We are all parents at the school who have a desire to see the school and the PTA work in partnership, with the expressed wish of providing both enjoyable and profitable family events.
Our Aims
Our aim is to plan and organise social fundraising events for the school. We meet once a term to discuss future events and to discuss how monies raised will be divided and spent. We work alongside our Headteacher to ensure our children have access to additional learning and equipment. This may take the form of art and dance workshops, school outings and new playground/classroom equipment. These events are run in conjunction with topics relevant to the current curriculum. The children benefit greatly from these extra activites, as it does much to broaden their experiences at this fantastic school.
We couldn't raise the money we do without the continued support of all the parents. So in advance, thank you all!
Maths Bags
One of the projects the PTA has funded are Maths Bags for the children of Years 1 & 2, to borrow and improve their numeracy skills.
Recent Purchases by the PTA
The PTA has recently purchased a number of items, which include the following:
Mad Science Workshop;
Rumplestiltskin Performance;
Two gazebos for use at Sports Day, as well as other occasions;
Alterations to Caterpillars' fence panels and a contribution of 10% towards the costs of the new canopy outside Caterpillars;
Role Play toys.

School Link
School Link catalogues are sent out via book bags once a term. The school receives 20p for every £1 spent, enabling us to buy extra books for the classrooms and library. All titles in the catalogue are offered at discounted prices, and as it is not a book club, you only order what you want, when you want. Please either return forms, via the school office, to Annette Hooper, by the date indicated, or alternatively order online at www.schoollink.co.uk at any time, making sure that you choose Reigate Parish Church School as your nominated school.
Yellow Moon

Recent Events/Fundraising Projects
SOS Coffee Morning in aid of the RNLI, Friday 29 January
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the SOS Coffee Morning hosted by the PTA in aid of the RNLI. We raised over £50 for a very worthy cause.
School Calendar
The children spent a great day at the beginning of November dressing up for each month of the calendar. The calendars include sponsorship from local businesses. A few more are available at a cost of £8 each, so please see Anna Tarrant or Jo Hughes to purchase yours. Thank you to Jo Hughes for organising and photographing this fantastic calendar, which has so far raised over £438.
Christmas Fair, Saturday 12 December
Thanks to Claire Neville and Claire Shackleton for organising a fantastic evening. Thanks must also go to the team of dads who set off the fireworks and to Chris Wield for the music, as well as all those parents who helped out in advance, on the night, and clearing up afterwards. Over £2,900 was raised on the night, which will, in due course, be spent on activities for the children.
Self-Portrait Mugs
The children really enjoyed drawing self-portraits to be included on a mug for each class. Some extra mugs have been ordered in case you missed out on the opportunity. Many thanks to Vanessa Crouch and Jenny Mackie for organising this, which has raised £132.
Northbrook Wrapping Paper
Many thanks to Su Rogers for organising the Northbrook wrapping paper purchases which has raised £111 this year. We will be needing a volunteer to take this on from Su next year. Speak to either Su or Anna Tarrant should you be interested in taking this on.
Christmas Cards
Many thanks to Lis Bowen, Carolyn Coveney and Anna Tarrant for organising the Christmas card project again this year. However strange it may seem to be painting pictures of Santa, reindeer and snowmen in glorious September sunshine, the end result is definitely worth it! We raised £177 this year.
