Year 2
The last half term has definitely been a busy one in year 2 with lots of exciting learning opportunities.
During Art Week we took a trip to Priory Park following the ‘tree trail’ and looking at allotments on a larger scale than our school garden in Park Lane. We enjoyed lots of art activities focusing on the outdoors as our inspiration.
The ‘Sing Up’ Bus visited us and we joined in singing with the school on the bus.

A Circus skills instructor helped us learn the art of juggling and balancing during Sports Week and our competitive races on Sports Day culminated in victory for the yellow team!

A team from St Mary’s Church led us on a Senses Trail around the church where we found different things to hear, see, smell, taste and touch.

We have been learning about the Great Fire of London and when a Fire Officer visited us in school we learned how to keep ourselves safe in a fire today.
At The Look-Out Discovery Centre in Bracknell we enjoyed lots of hands-on science activities and if we were brave enough we climbed to the top of a very high tower to enjoy the view.

We had a ‘Feeling Good Day’ when Miss Eggleston had the whole school, including Mr Sears our caretaker, doing some aerobic exercise on the playground.

We joined together with other infant schools in the Diocese when we went on a double-decker coach to St Peter’s Church in Limpsfield, to celebrate our time at Reigate Parish before we move on to our next schools.
In our very last week we had our own Leaver’s Service in St Marys Church and were pleased that many of our parents joined us as we came together as a school to say goodbye.

Good luck to all our Year 2s as they move on to their new schools. What a fantastic year group of children you have been!
